Norman William Hansen, 78, of Eden, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Patterson, NJ, he was the son of the late William Hansen and Catherine McMahon Hansen. Norman was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who made a lasting impression and formed inseparable bonds with his community and church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling across the country in his RV with his wife. He was a talented Locksmith and Auto Body and Outdoor Power Equipment business owner. In retirement, he was an usher at Asbury United Methodist Church and enjoyed creating beautiful woodworking crafts for family and friends. He was a US Army veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Joan Lois Leeman Hansen; a daughter, Elaine Salvador and her husband, Marc of Wantage, NJ; a granddaughter, Kristina Salvador still living at home with her parents; and a brother, Raymond Hansen of Pennsylvania. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, David Newman; 2 grandsons, Jason and Steven Salvador; and a brother, Lou Hansen. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00 am at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1401 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21801 with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Benita Harris will officiate. Contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice.
