Viewings for Paul N. O’Kelley Sr. will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel, 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, Pa., and Friday, Jan. 9, from 10 a.m. at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, 7922 Wise Ave., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
    {reg}The former Dundalk resident died Jan. 3 from cancer at the age of 81.
    He was born in Commerce, Ga., the third child of Charlie Franklin and Sallie Suggs O’Kelley. He moved to Dundalk in 1952 and worked as a welder and iron worker at Bethlehem Steel. After his retirement in 1996, he lived in Delta and then Windsor, Pa.
    He was an active member of the Windsor Assembly of God, where he served as head deacon, head trustee and head usher.
    “He had a deep love for his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,” a loved one said. “He was a very social person and ‘never met a stranger.’”
    He loved tending his vegetable garden and shared home-grown produce with family, friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed being out doors, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
    Katherine M. Davis O’Kelley, his wife of 42 years, survives him, along with children Teresa Biebl, Cynthia Tanner, Tanya Ross and Paul N. O’Kelley Jr., sister Mary Saxon, brothers Henry, Emory and Vernon O’Kelley, 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
    Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Inez Watkins, Ruby O’Kelley and Elmer O’Kelley.
