She was a Teacher’s Assistant and Tudor at Fruitland Intermediate, a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a foster parent.     Richard Joseph “Dick” “Ike” Ikonen, Sr., 68, of 535 East County Road, Rutland, died suddenly Saturday, January 17, 2015 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave, Worcester, after being stricken ill at home. Born in Gardner on December 29, 1946, he was the son of the late Reino and Margaret (Babineau) Ikonen. Richard was raised in Gardner, and graduated from the former Worcester Boys Trade High School in 1964. He was a United States Vietnam War Navy Veteran, and received the National Defense Service Medal.
