Born in Islip, Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of Lee Ann Laegen Lodge of Salisbury and the late Frederick Lodge. Laura was a faithful member of Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene, where she was actively involved in the choir and worship ministries. She and her husband were foster parents to over 50 children over a 20 year period. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, bird watching and writing poetry.
