Ronald Lagora Lancaster of Chestertown, Maryland died on January 19, 2015 at his home. He was 83. He was born on July 18, 1931 in Mt. Savage, MD the son of the late George W. and Alice V. Crowe Lancaster. Mr. Lancaster graduated from Bell High School in Frostburg, MD. He served in the United States Army in Korea where he earned a bronze star in 1953. He also earned the Korean Medal and the United Nations Medal and was honorably discharged. In 1960 he married Karen Ridder; they made their home in Mt. Savage, MD. Mr. Lancaster worked with Coca Cola Company, working his way up to a supervisory position. He retired after 38 years of service and moved to his family’s’ summer home in Tolchester, MD. He was very active with the VFW as past post commander in Mt. Savage. He also belonged to the American Legion. Mr. Lancaster loved boating and fishing. His wife predeceased him in 2014. He is survived by his daughter: Lisa Redman of Tolchester, MD, a grandson: Stuart Redman of Tolchester, MD, a granddaughter: Jessica Ball of Tolchester, MD, two great granddaughters; Hannah and Fara, and two sisters: Louise Stallings of Cumberland, MD, and Nancy Komfala of New Mexico. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 12:00 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road Chestertown, MD where relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service (11-12). Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery following the service.
