Mary Virginia Collins, formerly a resident of Federalsburg passed away at Chesapeake Woods in Cambridge on Friday, January 23, 2015. She was 88. She was born on October 11, 1926, in Denton, the daughter of the late Randolph Griffith and Helen Poore Griffith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Harold E. Collins on October 25, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoying spending time with her family. Mary enjoyed going fishing on the bay with her husband (Captain Collins) and always enjoyed Christmas time. Mary is survived by six children, a son Harold R. “Sonny” Collins (Alice) of Preston, 5 daughters Jo Ann Glanden of Denton, Betty Louise Bennett (Richard) of Hurlock, Bonnie Sue Sinclair (Louis) of Denton, Yvonne Sylvia Nagel (Henry) of Federalsburg, and Debra Mae Wright (Robert) of Cambridge, 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Elizabeth Nepert and Lilia Perry both of Preston. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Maryll Lee Nagell, a grandson Eric Glanden, a son-in-law, Lee Glanden, two brothers, Marion Griffith, Harvey W. Griffith, and two sisters, Margaret Baker and Anna Mae McLaughlin. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Hurlock with Rev. Dan Gedman officiating.
