    Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra dies at 90

    Yogi Berra, a Hall of Fame catcher with the New York Yankees, won three Most Valuable Player awards and appeared in the World Series more times than any other player in history. He was also a jovial figure whose knack for tangled tidbits of wisdom — “When you come to a fork in the road, take it”; “It ain’t over till it’s over” — transcended sports to make him one of the most universally beloved figures in American life.
