Mary “Pauline” Sard Passwaters, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at UMSMC at Easton. She was 85. She was born on July 28, 1931 in Hog Creek, Maryland, a daughter of the late Lester Sard and Agnes Lyons. She married the late Martin Passwaters, Sr., who preceded her in death on October 18, 2003. Pauline loved her family dearly and spent most of her time working in the home as a homemaker. She was very active in her community, volunteering most of her time. She was team mother for the Preston Little League, which her husband coached for a number of years. She could often be seen working the concession stand at many of the games. She was also a gifted musician who could yodel, sing, and play the harmonica. Pauline enjoyed fishing, crabbing, crocheting, and doing crossword puzzles as well as watching jeopardy. She was an honorary member of the Preston Volunteer Fire Department and a past member of the Preston Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as past secretary. Some of her involvement in the fire department included working the monthly breakfast as well as the annual carnival. She is survived by her six children, Samuel Dyott (Lillian) of Marydel, Linda Neal of Virginia Beach, Debbie Bennett (Ronnie) of Preston, Mary Ellen Wheeler (Wayne) of Easton, Sherry Townsend of Denton, and Marty Passwaters, Jr. of Preston; thirteen grandchildren Jessica Dyott of Kalispell, MT, Laura Creighton of Cambridge, Angela Neal of Virginia Beach, Crystal Glanden of Preston, Tammy Cohee of Preston, Karie Nepert of Federalsburg, Chris Gehring of Centerville, VA, Jesse Lambert of Easton, Zack Lambert of Hebron, Amanda Townsend of Easton, Carly Townsend of Easton, Kaila Passwaters, Kelvin Passwaters, and Kameron Passwaters, all of Preston. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 12 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Reverend Howard “Buddy” Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Junior Order Cemetery in Preston. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
