Lily Mae English of Federalsburg passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Talbot Hospice House in Easton. She was 98.
She was born Jan. 30, 1920 in Hurlock, MD, the daughter of the late Roland Stack, Sr. and Lillian Runicles Stack.
She graduated from Hurlock High School in 1938 and then attended Strayer Business School. On February 4, 1939, she married Harold G. English. He passed away on August 15, 2014 after 75 years of marriage.
She worked at Caroline Poultry as the Head Payroll Clerk, Zaffere Bakery and Ellis Concrete. She was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter Sandra K. Ovens of East New Market, a son Walter H. English, Sr. and his wife Janet of Rhodesdale, two grand-children Cindy Foster (Mark) of Trappe and Walter H. English, Jr. of Hurlock, step-grandson Mike Ellingsworth and his wife Tammy, two great-grandchildren Cassidy Foster and Kelsey Foster, three step-great grandsons, Bradley, Austin and Conor, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Simmons, a brother, Roland W. Stack, Jr., and a son-in-law Ronald C. Ovens.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with the Rev. Linda Birch officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00. Interment will follow at Unity-Washington Cemetery in Hurlock.
