Judith Ann Layton-Stewart “Judy”, 65, of Cumberland MD, died Sunday June 16, 2019, at Western Maryland Health System.
Born on August 20, 1953, in Cumberland MD, she was the daughter of the late Clyde E. Layton Sr., and the late Elizabeth E. Bittinger, Cumberland MD. Judith was also preceded in death of: James “Uncle Jim” Layton, Cumberland, MD, Brother Clyde E. Layton Jr., Cumberland, MD, Sister Virginia Mayhew, Westernport, MD, sister Rebecca Harris,of Florida. Brother-n-law; William Hare Sr.; niece Lisa Kennell.
Judith is survived by; Daughter Tina Lindner and partner Ronald Eversole: Springfield, WV. Grandson Jeremia Abe and great grandson Elijah Abe, Cumberland, MD, Granddaughter Kayla Abe and partner Kyle Keller, Great grandson Zayde Keller. Cumberland, MD.
In addition Judith is also survived by: Brothers’ Charles Layton, Cumberland, MD and John Layton and wife Debbie, Tennessee. David Layton, Cumberland, MD Sisters; Mary Mossburg, Cumberland, MD, Evelyn Hare, Cumberland, MD. Betty Munoz and husband Carlos, Sarasota , FL. Elizabeth Casteel, Terra Alta, WV, Rosemary Grabenstein and husband Tony, Va. Linda Layton, MD, Debra Layton, WV, and several nieces and nephews.
Judith attended Fort Hill High School, and received her GED. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Dietary Aid. Judith worked at The Lions Center, Cumberland, MD until 1988. Judith was previously married to Gene A. Lindner, WV, Jerry E. Cook,WV, and Timothy Stewart, MD. “Judy” loved dancing, fishing, bingo, spending time with family. She was a wonderful Mom, “Nanny”, Friend. Judy was best known as “Nanny” to so many. She touched so many lives.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” Memorial picnic on Saturday June 22, 2019, from 3pm-6pm, at The Eagle’s Nest Campground, Fort Ashby, WV. Flowers can be sent to her home at 9W. Clement Street, Cumberland, MD. The family asks to please try to attend memorial service and in lieu of flowers bring a covered dish. Contributions may be sent to; Tina Lindner, P.O.
